The One Who Stands Beside
Me
I will have no other God
Besides the One who stands beside me
I will have no other Lord
Besides the One who leads and guides me
And I will run to no other refuge
Besides the One who safely hides me
I will have no other God
Besides the One, besides the One who stands beside me
Lord, to whom shall I go,
and where else can I run to?
There's only one true God in this great big world
And that only One is You
So may this song of my devotion be my anthem through the
years
As You stand by me through the laughter and the tears
I will have no other God
Besides the One who stands beside me
I will have no other Lord
Besides the One who leads and guides me
And I will run to no other refuge
Besides the One who safely hides me
I will have no other God
Besides the One, besides the One who stands beside me
Maker of heaven and earth,
and Lord of the land and the sea
You're the only One who can rule this world
And the only One for me
So may this song of my devotion be my anthem and refrain
As You stand by me through the sunshine and the rain
I will have no other God
Besides the One who stands beside me
I will have no other Lord
Besides the One who leads and guides me
And I will run to no other refuge
Besides the One who safely hides me
I will have no other God
Besides the One, besides the One who stands beside me

STORY BEHIND THIS SONG...
(Read Exodus 20:1-6; John 6: 66-68)
"Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of
eternal life."
The working title of this song is "Song
of a Monotheist", which is what I am. I have only one
God. He alone is my Refuge, my unfailing Rock in whom I
trust. He has been my constant help and closest Friend.
Though He may allow me to walk through difficult days, He
never asks me to make it on my own. He has always been there
right beside me.
In return for His perfect faithfulness,
I offer my total devotion. There have been many times when
all I had to run on was that commitment. When all the feelings
had run dry, and there were no miracles in sight I had to
tenaciously cling to the Gospel I knew to be true.
All praise, honor and glory be to the
Father, Son and Holy Spirit--one God forever!
